Homeschool Highlights - I persevere

Persevere:  continue in a course of action even in the face of difficulty or with little or no prospect of success

This week in kindergarten we learned about turtles and perserverance and it was a great week.  I love how science is tied in with Biblical principles!

We also began using the blending ladder.  I can see that this is going to be a great tool for Little Man learning how to read.  If I point to a word and ask him to sound it out, he grudgingly will.  Apparently that is just no fun!  Give him the ladder and some letters and he will make his own words to sound out.

In Adventures this week we finished up our unit on George Washington.  What an interesting fellow!  I love that I have this opportunity to learn even more by homeschooling my children.

Here is Aislinn working on Spelling Power.  I love how she puckers up her lips when she is thinking.

In art we are working through I Can Do All Things.  We are a bit behind the curriculum due to having printer/copier issues.  Last week I told her she could just do her assignments right in the book and she is now flying through the work.   Why didn't I do that earlier?
