My husband is usually the grill master around here, but last week he was working late a couple nights so the kids and I commandered his grill! We had so much fun that we might not give it back to him. ;-) We grilled up carrots in foil with a little coconut oil, some cod wrapped in lemon slices, steaks, and these brussel sprouts. The kids made up the veggies in foil while I worked the grill - a nice system. I hope you love them as much as we did. (Oh and sorry about the blurry, funky colored photos... Foil gives off wicked color casts and I was too lazy to change to a more appropriate lens the the day. )
Cleaned and sliced brussel sprouts
Drizzle of Coconut Oil
Cloves of garlic
1/2 vidalia onion, sliced
Salt and pepper
And here's my children's contribution to the blog. They wanted to show that whole foods make you strong.
Great post. Such sweet pics.
ReplyDeleteMan, look at Aislinn's muscles. She is one strong gymnast. Your kiddos are so cute, Chelle.
ReplyDeleteWhat a bunch of gorgeous kids! (Found your blog through WTM Hive Mind.)
ReplyDeleteHi, I just found you blog, and wanted to say hi. :) I have a son (2.5) who is dairy intollerant and peanut, soy and coconut allergic (as well as severe seasonal allergies), a daughter (5.5) who is very sensitive to dyes and processed food and extremely strong and energetic.
ReplyDeleteWe have been doing FIAR and Sonlight (kind of a hybrid which we love and works well for us), for K, but we are going to try MFW ADV out for a 6 months here this fall. (We have been through the Little House Series this summer, and to De Smet, as well as focused on learning the 50 states, so it seemed like Adventures was a good fit with what we were already doing in a delight directed manner.)
It looks like you have a lot of topics I am interested in. I have book marked your blog, and will go through your archives later.

Have thoroughly enjoyed your blog! Would love to sit down with you over a cuppa tea and get to know you better. Was wondering if you will be blogging more in the coming school year as well what will you be using? :) I am in my second year of homeschooling with MFW.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comments Mary Lou! I will be blogging as much as I have time. I hope you have a great school year!!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to try this. My girls have a new-found love of raw brussels sprouts but we have yet to find a recipe for cooked ones we like. We will definitely try this out!
