She's been reading more and more during our school times and I catch her reading signs, things off boxes, magazines... But if we would sit down with books, she would say "Oh no Momma. I can't read, yet." It was like she thought that what she was doing for school time was just homeschool work and not reading. I couldn't figure out why she was so set against reading books, but I didn't push (Big applause for me!!!).
Today at the library she was having trouble finding a book. I asked her what she wanted and she said "I want a book about puppies." I encouraged her to ask the librarian to help her. And she did. All on her own. (Ah. My big girl.)
Aislinn brought a book about Biscuit the puppy home, sat down and read the whole thing outloud without error, while sitting in dh's lap. I'm so stinkin' proud. I had no clue she could read THAT well already.
